Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports or PBIS is a proactive approach to student discipline. PBIS helps create a safe learning environment where students are able to learn and teachers are able to teach. PBIS is meant to recognize the positive behaviors of all students, acknowledge and reinforce the students for exhibiting the appropriate behaviors, and provide support to those students who need extra guidance meeting school wide expectations.
The Richardson ROAR
All students are expected to follow the Richardson ROAR:
I am a Richardson Tiger.
Hear me ROAR!
Classroom Behavior Management
All classrooms at Richardson Elementary use the same behavior system. Students begin their day on Ready to Learn. They can advance to Awesome Tiger and OUTSTANDING Royal Tiger for doing great things. If discipline infractions occur, they can be moved to Caution, Loss of Privilege, Do "Think About It" Activity and Conduct Report. Your child should be able to tell you what behaviors are expected at each level.
Absent Work Policy
Parents are able to call and request work for their child once he/she has been absent for TWO or more days. You may call the office and request that work be sent home with someone or pick it up yourself. Please do not request work before two days!
All 4th graders will go to library every week with Mrs. Moore during Language Arts class.
